The Entrepreneurship Journey #03: Highlights of January
In this series, I share a lot of my struggles in entrepreneurship. I also wanted to share the things I enjoy about it. I can honestly say that I am so much happier now than I was a year ago when I was working as an employee. I feel like myself again and feel the freedom to do the things that I want to do. I get to develop myself and challenge myself to be a better version of myself. This month had a lot of firsts, which was both exciting and terrifying.
Opening my first business account
This month was the first time that I opened a checking account for my business. I received my details for the KVK and got information on my taxes. This seems like simple and mundane stuff but feels very exciting to me. This is the start of something very special to me, a little bit of a dream come true, a reality that I created for myself. It makes me want to grow and build a true community even more.
Flexibility in when and where I work
The thing I easily enjoyed most last month was the fact that I could decide at any given moment how much I would work and where I would work. I had complete freedom. I was no longer moving from meeting to meeting, wondering I was actually going to do the work I needed to do. I also quickly realized how much more productive I was when I would optimize the time I was working. I could make my days shorter so I was actually spending my time focused. I found a way to be more present. It felt free to move into flow and decide to stop working when my mind was simply not in the right mind space. It felt like a whole new way of taking care of myself, really listening to my body and making choices accordingly.
Additionally, I could just take a few days off at the end of January to do a last-minute getaway with my fiancé. There was no one telling me what do to and when to do it. I am the master of my schedule now.
Investing in Business Coaching
I am really excited about this. I am investing in myself and I just can’t wait to start. It felt very freeing to invest in me and support myself in such a way. I showed myself that I had faith in the fact that I would earn back the money and more by growing and learning new skills. Although I still struggle with my confidence every other day, I also have this silent faith that whatever happens, this will be a great experience and truly something that I want to experience, regardless of the downs.
Improving a little every day
Entrepreneurship has been a journey so far, but I honestly can say that I really enjoy the fact that I can tell that I am growing every single day. I am a total personal development geek, and I love learning and improving myself. I am getting exactly what I want, I learn a lot every day. I get better, I make mistakes and then learn from the mistakes. It is an amazing experience.
